This video gives you some tips on making gravy in your home. You will be surprised how simple and incredibly delicious it really is.
Step 1: Introduction
How simple is it to make the most delicious gravy? Some beef bones from the butcher, an onion, a Knorr Rich Beef Stock Pot, some water, so what we do to begin with this, we just caramelize and roast our bones.
Step 2: Prepare the onions
Take an onion. Just chop it coarsely. Just sprinkle these on. So now, what we’ve got is our beef bones which are caramelizing with our onions, very simple, no need for anything else. Let’s not forget, the more you put in, sometimes the more you take away.
Step 3: Add the water
Here, we have our water, approx 900 ml to a Knorr Rich Beef Stock Pot. Why so much? Because in the cooking, we’ll reduce it down by about 300 ml, so that’s our beef stock pot and just dissolve it in. In the domestic kitchen, you haven’t got what we’ve got in there, professional kitchen. So therefore, this is where our stock pot, rich beef stock pot, touch of taste, all assists. In my opinion, it’s the closest you’ll get to a real stock without the aggravation of making one. And when it’s finished, can you tell the difference? No.
Step 4: Reduce and thicken
So all we do now is we just take out the fat, just out your pan and then we add our rich beef stock pot. So now, if we reduce this down, by just in the bob, we should be there. So as you can see, it’s now reduced by just less than half. That’s a nice texture for me. It’s all like that little bit thicker, then do it with corn flour, simple.
Step 5: Drain
Even when you’ve bought a nice joint, something rather beautiful about tasting the meat, I think gravies can be a little too thick. And then, just drain it to a sieve. So we’ve extracted all the goodness from the bones now. It’s a small price to pay for delicious gravy, trust me.
Step 6: Conclusion
Some like it thicker than others, some like it not quite as strong. All I’ve done is shown you the method using Knorr Rich Beef Stock Pot.
