How To Make Pie Dough
Cookery school owner Paul Ellis shows you how to prepare a simple but delicious traditional pie dough.

Ingredients
- 55 g butter
- 110 g flour
Method
Mix your flour and butter together in a mixing bowl. Using your hands, rub the butter into the flour to form a crumb-like texture, then work into a dough. If it is to wet or dry, you can add a little flour or milk until it is the required texture.
At this stage you can rest it for a couple of hour in the fridge to make it easier to work with.
When you are ready to use your pastry, dust a board and a rolling pin with flour and roll the pastry. You can cut around the top of your pie container to get it the right sized pastry lid.
