Totally agree with triky rik, it isn't fair to slag off recipies just because you don't make it that way. Everyone cooks differently and pilau rice is not just made by indians anymore, so get over yourself. If you don't like raisins and cashew (which i don't) leave them out

I have read that authentic Indian curries/rices would NEVER have the addition of raisins. It is a British thing from the days of the Raj, but hey, let's not get too upset about it!

the use of raisins and nuts did not come from the Raj, it was common in Mughal and north Indian cooking in general, it originated from Persia.

ok. although this looks delicious, this is not how it is done in trinidad...cashew nuts? we use different ingredients and a different method. only one conclusion, we probably call it by the wrong name, but it's the same idea ;-)
