How To Make Pillows

Today, I show you how to make pillows. For this we need a course of pillow inserts, a half meter of a more heavy woollen fabric, the best is a cut material. We need a longer ruler about 60 cms long.

We need pins, a pencil, fabric scissors, and off course a matching thread. Then we will start with our cutting outlet, we needs to know the measurements of the cushion insert. I have chosen a 15x15 inch insert and for this cushion we need 3 squares.

Take one each and folded like that and then I need my ruler. The cushion I said is 15x15 inch width, we needed also to calculated. We have a xx and also the cushion has a depth.

so out 1 inch all the way around and to cut out 16x16 inch. Important is noted you pin freely all these 3 layers together, make sure that the pins are not going over the line you have drawn, otherwise you can't cut this with the scissors. What you have created now is 3 squares.

I could take the one, the top one side and with the two remaining ones as you see I have taken it again right side to right side, and from the two remaining ones we cut off another two xx. Don't forget to pin this two layers again. Now we are starting with ironing to hem.

We have now here this rectangle and one of the long sides, if you can't realize or you could not see which one it is put it in the icon and see which one is the long side. The first one is approximately a cm, you iron this and then 2.5 cm again.

Now I really don't mind if this is a different measurements, but what is really important is that what ever measurement you started with, please keep it nicely and straight. That is like this and you do the same on the other side. The first step is now to assemble all 3 pieces together.

You take one, put it right side to right side, line up with the cutting edges. Then you take the other piece and put exactly the opposite to the square and pin this two. The next step is sew the way all around that four single sewings.

Do not make the mistake that you the xx all in one, I will show you exactly how. Take the pins out, never sew over the pins that is dangerous, when they break, they can hurt you. Final step is to insert now the cushion, I went to the ironing pot, I pressed the whole cover flat and then you squeeze this only like that, open it, bring that all the way into the corners and that is how to make pillow.
