So now, I'm going to show you how to make purple fondant. So the first thing you need is fondant icing and just take as much as you need. I'm going to wear gloves so that it doesn't get on my hands.

Okay, so to dye this purple, I'm going to use a professional paste coloring so they're really thick and a lot stronger than liquid colorings. It's best if you use a paste coloring because with liquid colorings when you add them to something like fondant in large quantities, they can make it very sticky to work with so it's better if you use a paste coloring for that reason. So if I add just a little bit like that and then mix it in, I'll get more of a pale violet color coming through.

So depending on what you're making, you might want to make a different shade if your wanting something like a dark really deep purple, all you need to do is just add more of the paste coloring. It's best to start off adding small amounts first because you can always add to your color, but you can't take away, and if you make it too dark, you really have to add so much white to bring it back to the color that you need. So it's always best to just start off with little bits at a time.
