How To Make Red Slime

With a bit of red food colouring, you can paint your slime red, not pink. Mad Jack tips you off on how to make and really get a red slime.

Right, now I'm going to show you how to make red slime. I've got my ingredients down on the table here. Our first ingredient is PVA glue, just standard kid's PVA glue, a little bit of water, then we've got our magic ingredient, the borax powder.

Now, I then mix this with water in my bottle here and finally, we need our colour, a red food dye, and something to mix it with, that's a lolly stick there. So the first thing we're going to do, we're going to mix equal parts of water and the PVA glue. Give that a stir and make sure it's nicely mixed in.

Now, we're going to add our colour. Now, because we've got a white start with the PVA glue, you do need to put in quite a bit of red unless you want to end up with pink, okay. But there we go, lovely red there.

Now, we're going to add our borax, give it a good squirt, you don't have to be too scientific about that, and start to stir and straightaway, you can see we're getting this lovely slimy change of polymers. Give it a good mix. Now, after a quick spin, you can see that there's no more water in the cup and all of the slime is sticking together into one lump and that's when you know you're basically ready.

Just give it a final mix and here we are, lovely red slime. .
