Ingredients

  • red fondant icing
  • icing sugar

Method

To form the petals, divide the icing up into a few round balls and flatten each out using your fingers. Make sure that you flatten one side slightly thinner than the other. The petals can be of different shapes, but make sure you have one longer piece.

Roll the largest piece of icing up to form the inner part of the rose. Take another petal and wrap it around, making sure it covers the join of the central piece. Repeat with the remaining petals.

Remove the excess icing at the bottom of the flower, leave to harden and place on top of a cupcake or cake.
