    You can buy greek style yogurt that is already strained so you don't have to do the cheesecloth thing. Fage is one brand like that.

    Please do not use plastic to microwave, actually do not use microwave at all! The plastic releases toxic fumes into the food.

    It is a thin cotton cloth, muslin or you could get cheese cloth. You could skip the step but the dish might be a little watery and try and use the store-bought yogurt/curd.

    What is the name of that cloth again? I think that is the hardest part, finding time to drain the yogurt. Can the thickened kurd be refridgerated and kept for a while?
