Steaming vegetables is a healthy way to cook one of your five-a-day without losing the nutrients. Chef Paul Mulvenna-Pegrum shows you how to make your own steamer and steam your green beans.

Ingredients

  • green beans
  • water

Method

Wash and top and tail the green beans before serving.

To steam them, you can use a steamer machine or create your own steamer by putting a colander in a pot of water and placing a pot lid on top. Make sure the water doesn't touch the colander.

Steam the beans for 4 to 5 minutes, depending on how crunchy you like your vegetables.
