How To Make Sugar Wax
Nadine from London's Beauty Institute shows you how to make sugar wax for hair removal using three simple ingredients: sugar, lemon juice, and water.
Hello. I'm going to explain to you how to make sugar wax. So, all you need is some lemon juice, some white granulated sugar and some water.
In a saucepan, you need to put two cups of white granulated sugar, you need a quarter cup of lemon juice - not too much (if you put too much, it won't solidify), and you need a quarter cup of water. Stir the mixture together in the saucepan. Place it on a medium to high temperature.
When it reaches boiling point, you turn the heat down slightly, and allow it to simmer. You will notice that there's going to be quite a lot of froth on top. That's fine - just let it simmer.
After about five, six minutes, just remove it off heat, just let the froth go down just to check the color and the consistency of the sugar wax. If it's still quite thin and still very light in color, like a light golden color, place it back onto the heat. Allow it to simmer just for a little bit longer, for another few minutes.
You can also take it off the heat again just to allow the froth to go down, so again you can check the color. Do that maybe a couple of times until the color reaches almost like an amber, golden color. Shouldn't be too brown; what that means, it's gone too brittle and it's just going to solidify and just break away - you might as well just throw it away - and it shouldn't be too light, like a golden color.
Otherwise, that won't solidify. It should be almost like an amber color, almost like a honey color. The consistency shouldn't be too thin or too thick.
It should be almost like a medium to runny maple syrup - that sort of consistency. And the end result of the sugar wax should be like so. And that's how you make sugar wax. .
