The meatballs should not be cooked in the gravy, they should be server separate, parsley should be skipped all together, and the meatballs + gravy should be server with potatoes (mashed if you like) and lingonberry jam!

this is how you make real Swedish meatballs...

For 4 - 5 portions you need: roughly 400 g of mixed minced meat; 3/4 dl of bread crumbs (you can also crush dry white bread); 2 dl milk; 1 - 1,5 teaspoon salt; 1/2 teaspoon white or black pepper; 1 tablespoon grated onion; 1 egg.

No red-wine and never cinnamon and never just beef. it should be a mixture of pork and beef. This person that made this recipe is a hack! They have made American Swedish meatballs...not Swedish meatballs.

We are 6 people in Sweden watching this and we have to say that we agree with all the comments below. No cinnamon, no red wine in the sauce, no parsley, fry in butter (or a mixture of olive oil and butter for health reasons), serve with Lingonberry Jam (try Cranberry sauce is a good alternative), don't cook them in the sauce. Pre-fry the onion is also a good tip!

Well I suppose the wine is added to cut the fat of the sauce a little acid does not do any harm.
My mum used to make similar meatballs or kotlety (no wine)
she was from Ukraine.

2. The meatballs are not supposed to be cooked in the gravy.
3. Parsley? No.
4. "There's no such thing as swedish meatballs"? What are you, some kind of an idiot? Swedish meatballs are swedish meatballs! the dish was invented in Sweden hundreds of years ago!
