Ingredients

  • 300 g smoked tofu
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 red peppers
  • 2 tsp Chinese five spice
  • 2 tsp soy sauce
  • 200 ml orange juice
  • cooking oil
  • 100 g pineapple chunks
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 cm ginger
  • 1 tbsp tomato puree
  • 1 tsp cornflour
  • fresh coriander

Step 1: Prepare The Ingredients

Slice the red peppers, finely chop the coriander, finely slice your spring onions, slice the onion, crush your garlic cloves, and grate the ginger.

Step 2: Prepare The Tofu

Take you tofu out out of the water, and, using some kitchen roll, roll it up to and absorb the water. Once the tofu has been dried, slice the block into small pieces.

Step 3: Fry The Tofu

Bring a frying pan to heat, and drizzle in a small amount of cooking oil.Place toe tofu in the pan and leave to fry for about 5 minutes, then turn over and cook for another 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, add the Chinese five spice, and then add the soy sauce.

Step 4: Combine The Vegetables

Into a saucepan, drizzle some olive oil. Add the sliced onion, then the sliced red pepper, and allow to cook for about 3 minutes, mixing regularly. After 3 minutes, add your pineapple chunks, and then your orange juice. Add the rice vinegar, the ginger, the crushed garlic, the tomato puree, the spring onions, and then stir well. With about 25 ml of reserved orange juice, add some cornflour, mix well, and add this to the tofu.

Step 5: Serve

Plate up and garnish with some freshly chopped coriander.
