- 300 g flour
- 200 g butter
- 100 g caster sugar
- 1 egg
You can make this sweet pastry by hand or in an electric mixer. If you're using a mixer, use the paddle attachment, not the whisk.
Cream the butter and sugar together for 2 to 3 minutes. Add the egg and mix till combined. Add the flour and mix.
Remove the paddle and bowl from the machine and knead the mixture into a paste with your hand, till it is sticky to the touch.
Wrap the paste in clingfilm and place in the fridge for 1 hour before using. The pastry will keep for 2 days in the fridge and 1 month in the freezer.
