How To Make Thanks Giving Table Decorations
You can make many sorts of flower arrangements for many different occasions like, for example, you can use a pumpkin to represent thanksgiving and use that for your flower arrangement.
Hi. My name is Alexandra Lyons and I'm a Master Florist. I create floral displays for celebrity homes, events, weddings and special occasions.
I'm going to share some tips with you on flower arranging. I'm going to show you how to make a thanksgiving table arrangement that looks something like this. So, we have a pumpkin here which I've cut and scooped out.
Place a piece of polythene or cellophane inside because we're going to be filling it with chloroform or water. Chloroform soaks for ninety seconds and the best way to do that is to fill your sink up and drop the form in and let it sink down and by the time it's sunk-ish, it would have drunk full of water. It's best to do that rather than pour water over the top.
You get uneven, take up the water. Place that in there and trim off the excess. Let me get some foliage.
So, it's just going to be a low arrangement because this is going to be on a dining table so we can't have it too high because people won't get to talk if there are flowers in the way. Cut everything before it goes in the oasis and make sure no leaves go into it. This could be a good place for you to add your flowers to.
I'm going to suggest also that you shine your pumpkin a little. I'm going to use leaf shine and then we can place some flowers in. I'm going to start with some berries.
Give it a nice rich look for the full display. I'm grouping them. It gives a greater impact.
I'm also going to shine these up. I'm hanging a few over the side. Place a few gerbers in.
I'll group those too and place this one down here, very nice things to put in it, displays down nice. This will be lovely for an autumn wedding. Here you go.
We're nearly there. Make sure the stems are clean. You're not putting the stem in place where the joint is in the flower.
So, we're out of there, pretty looking spray roses here. I think we're nearly done! If you've got tomatoes in the green house, you can either string the tomatoes, it will look very pretty or chilli peppers. Okay. .
