How To Make The Internet Faster
If a sluggish internet connection is bringing you down, use these simple tips to speed up your computer's internet connection and make web browsing more enjoyable.
Making the internet faster is, in many ways, not possible other than the obvious and logical step of purchasing a high speed internet connection. Ask your internet service provider, only assign a set of bandwidth, but there are multiple ways you could possibly get that speed increase. For example, all the different browsers have different features which can allow you to speed up your internet connection.
Over many years, the ways browsers work has been optimized to such a level that it's very hard to gain any useful speed here. Speed gains to be made now are extremely nominal and probably imperceptible. I would recommend using the browser you're most comfortable with rather than the one with a slightly quicker connection.
If you see an advertisement on the internet, telling you that you're going to get three times the speed by downloading a piece of software, don't believe it. It's not true. However, there are some ways where you can get slight speed increases.
If you're using a wifi network, you can speed up by getting closer to the signal. You can do this in several ways such as the blindingly obvious one, sitting closer to the router, or you can plug a cable into the router to enhance the signal strength. Another way to speed up the internet is to change the DNS settings for your network.
Usually, the DNS will be set up to be automatically generated and will be going to your ISP to get the DNS settings. These may or may not be the fastest available. There are other good options available such as Google Public DNS, Open DNS and others.
If you're very technical, you can set up your own DNS server. But on a local PC, this is not a trivial task. A final way to make the internet faster is by changing entries in the Windows registry.
Of course, you can only do this if you're using a PC. However, if you are using a PC, there are ways to modify the Windows registry to change them to the optimum levels, so that if you have software running on your PC, it will run a bit quicker. Some software to help with this is called TCP Optimizer.
This is readily available on the internet. It should be said that you'll only see minor changes if you do run the software but those changes will help you to connect a little bit faster. If a sluggish internet connection is bringing you down, use these simple tips to speed up your computer's internet connection and make web browsing more enjoyable.
