Introduction
-
Hi I'm Kenji. I'm the Smirnoff Black ambassador. Today I'm going to be making three variants on the Moscow Mule, one of the classic cocktails of the early 1900's.
-
Step 2:
-
Three Varieties
-
I'm going to be making three variants of this using Smirnoff Red and Smirnoff Black. I'm going to be kicking off with more modern using a highball glass, filling it up with cubed adding 50 mls of Smirnoff Red. Adding and topping up with ginger ale and then just squeezing in a fresh wedge of lime and serving it just like that.

Step 3:
-
Smirnoff Red Vodka
-
Now more of a traditional twist so I'm going to be using a rocks glass, squeezing three wedges of lime originally adding in a good 30 milliliters of lime, just squeezing and dropping those into the drink. All lovely juice, adn then put it in the cubed ice. Fifty mls of Smirnoff Red vodka.
This time topping up with ginger beer but also adding a drop of Angostura Bitters giving it a little bit more of a kick. There we have our second variation on the Moscow mule.

Step 4:
-
Moscow Mule
-
For my third variation on the Moscow Mule I'm going to be the traditional copper mug that was served in Los Angeles when Smirnoff was promoting itself. A lot of the stars actually had their names engraved onto the mug.
This time to add a bit more of a ginger fire, I'm going to add some fresh ginger and some raspberries in there on top of my limes, and I'm just going to give them a quick muddle before adding my ice. And Smirnoff Black to complement all those ingredients I've just added and topping up with ginger beer, once again. There we have our three variations on the Moscow Mule.
