Getting the perfect ballet bun can be tricky. Sometimes, you leave all these loose ends or it's in the wrong place. Peter is going to show you how to remedy those problems and give you some tips on how to create the perfect ballet bun.
I'm going to show you how to make the perfect ballet bun. Now, the bun should sit somewhere between the top of the head and the neck area. We're going to place it around there.
You're going to need to use a large Mason and Pearson brush to get the hair as smooth as possible. I brush underneath as well. Some people like to do this with their hair damp or a little bit wet even.
I find if you do that, you can cause breakage on the hair. So, I wouldn't recommend doing this look with wet hair. Try to do it with dry hair if possible.
And as you're going along, you want to really light hold hairspray, just to help hold the smoothing process, and I'm going to finish even with a comb just to get the top layers in there. A bit more hairspray -use the palm of your hand as well. What you don't want is any fluffy pieces out, left out.
In some cases, you can use a slight palm aid or wax as well. You don't want the hair looking to oily. Now, I can put my ponytail in.
So, this sort of look requires doing the perfect ponytail and then the perfect twist. You need two techniques in one look, really. Now, with what's left over, we need to brush this really smooth as well.
A bit of hairspray, make sure your hairspray is not a lacquer. It needs to be a really soft hold so you can actually brush it out as you're working with it. And what you do with this ponytail now, if you twist it, as you twist, now, as you're twisting it, you're going to place it around the base of the ponytail.
You open your bobby pin, you grip the ponytail into the base of the head, and you keep working around. You're putting in as many grips as you need. I find about 3 to 5 grips should probably do it, and twist it all around making sure no pieces are left out, and just tuck those ends under.
I'm going to use my pintail comb just to tuck those ends under and just finish off with a bit more hairspray and the palms of your hand just to get all these loose pieces right in place. And that's my perfect ballet bun. .
