How To Make Your Own Playdough
How To Make Play dough: VideoJug presents a short video showing you how to make play dough your own way. This can be fun for all the family, so cook up a doughy storm the VideoJug way and learn to make your own play dough.
Step 1: You will need
- Plain flour
- Food colouring
- Fine salt
- A saucepan
- A wooden spoon
- Cooking oil
- And two bowls
Step 2: Mix
Pour 16 ounces of flour into a bowl, followed by 16 ounces of salt.
In a separate bowl pour 16 ounces of water, and add a dash of food colouring in a colour of your choice.
Step 3: Heat
Add the contents of both bowls into a large pan, followed by 2 tablespoons of cooking oil. Turn the hob onto a medium heat.
Stir the mixture constantly and it will start to thicken. Keep stirring until it reaches the consistency of stiff, smooth mashed potatoes, and comes away from the sides of the pan.
Step 4: Knead
Remove the dough from the pan and leave to cool as it will be very hot at the moment. Once it has cooled, knead the dough until it is smooth and playable throughout.
