Step 1:
-
Foot Placement
-
Today, we're going to learn how to manual.
Foot placement for manual is pretty simple. Your back foot is going to be at the edge of the tail while your front foot is going to be over in the front truck hardware.
-
Step 2:
-
Balance
-
While you're manualing, you might feel like you are going forward too much.
At that point, you throw your body back and use your arms to keep your balance.
If you feel like you are going back too much, throw your body forward and balance with your arms as well.

Step 3:
-
Starting
-
The best way to start with manual is to take it onto flat ground, and then once you get comfortable with that, you move to obstacles.
-
Step 4:
-
Landing
-
When you want to land into a manual, you do a regular Ollie, like in a box or a curve, and just slide your back foot back on the tail of the board. You land with all your weight on your back foot.
Stick with it, and you'll land a manual.
