How To Massage Away A Hangover

Step 1: Get comfortable
Try to find a quiet place where you can lower the lights and sit or lie down. Take a few deep breaths and try to get yourself to relax. This will increase the affects of the massage.
Step 2: Cover the eyes
With fingers extended, raise both hands to the face and place the heels of the hands on the lower edges of the cheek bones and give light upward pressure. Now lay the fingers on the forehead, covering the eyes with the palms and placing the base of the fingers along the eyebrow line. Without lifting the hands from the face, begin making small circles. Continue this for one or two minutes.
Step 3: Temple massage
Now bring the hands to the side of the face and place the index and middle fingers on the temples. With light pressure, begin to make circles with the pads of the fingers, moving downwards at the front and then back up. This should be done slowly with each circle lasting about 3 seconds. Continue this for 1 or 2 minutes.
Without removing the fingers from the temples, extend the thumbs and place them on the upper jaw, just under the cheekbones. Maintain a slight pressure as you allow the jaw to relax, and slowly move the thumbs down, giving a light stretch between the temples and jaw.
Step 4: Base of the skull
Lower both hands and take them around to the back of your head. Using the pads of the fingers, begin making small circles along the base of the skull. Start from the centre and work your way outwards. This should be done with moderate pressure, moving the scalp beneath the fingers. When you get to the bumps just behind the ears, return to centre and start again. Repeat this 3 times.
Step 5: Pressure points
Many of these points are not recommended for pregnant women. Start by using the thumb and forefinger of one hand to pinch the skin between the thumb and forefinger of the other hand, close to the base of the fingers. Hold this for about a minute and then switch hands.
Next place the hands on the sides of the ribs and curl the fingers putting pressure just up underneath the ribs with the middle fingers. Finally, bring the hands to just below the knees. Find the large bumps on the outside of the shins and apply pressure with the thumbs just below them. Hold them for about 2 minutes. And that is how to massage away a hangover.
