How To Master Disinfecting Surfaces
A specialist in environmentally responsible cleaning techniques tells you how to clean and disinfect surfaces without the use of harsh chemicals.
Hello, I'm Kate Belcheva. I run UltimatelyEco Cleaning. We clean homes and offices around London using environmentally friendly cleaning products and materials.
Today, I'm going to be talking about green cleaning. Now, I'm going to show you how to disinfect or sanitize a surface using natural and green cleaning methods. The best of the natural ways of disinfecting a surface are using tea tree oil.
All you need is a spray bottle of water, clear tap water. We add three to five droplets of tea tree oil. Remember that essential oils do not blend with water, so make sure you shake the bottle well before you start cleaning.
Spray the surface, and then dry it well. You can use a muslin cloth or just another natural cloth, or you can use a microfiber cloth. You can also use a microfiber cloth that has silver in it.
Silver is a natural killer of bacteria. Microfibers remove 99% of bacteria off the surface. Drying the surface will provide an environment where the bacteria can't grow.
Bacteria like moisture. If you dry the surface, the bacteria wouldn't be able to spread. This is how to get good at sanitizing the surface. .
