This video will show you how to thoroughly, yet quickly and easily, green clean and deodorize your fridge with items you already have around your house!
I'm going to show you how to green clean your fridge. First of all, you need to empty it. So now that we've emptied our fridge, what we're going to use is a bicarbonate of soda which is a natural deodorizer, so it's great for cleaning fridges, and we're going to mix that with a little bit of liquid soda which will cut through all of the old food debris.
So, we're going to take a bowl water, warm water, and a wet cloth, we're going to sprinkle that with the bicarbonate of soda - that's otherwise known as cream of tartar - you'll have it in your baking cupboard if you make cakes. So what we're going to do is take our cloth and start by wiping the bottom of the fridge. You can see already that is cutting through all the food debris making that lovely and clean, and all you need to do then is to just wipe that over with a dry cloth and your food is ready to be brought back in there.
Rinse your cloth there. The next to do is the shelves and the easiest way to do those really is to take them out. So we're going to take out our first shelf here, which we see that needs a good clean.
So, again, we're going to sprinkle it with our bicarbonate of soda on there, and just give that a wipe. Then turn it over and just wipe the other side. As you can hear, that's acting as a gentle scourer on the dried milk that's on the shelf there, and turn it over and keep giving that a wipe until you've gotten rid of all the food debris.
And this is just with a gentle cloth so we're not even using a scourer on this, but the bicarb works really, really well. So what we need to do then is just rinse that off in our bowl of water to get rid of the remaining bicarb on there. You see, that's lovely and clean now, and what we do is wipe that dry with our soft cloth.
Put our shelf back into our fridge. Once you've done all your shelves, and you've cleaned all the runners in there, the next thing to do is to do the door. The great thing about the door is that it all comes apart so you can lift out the shelves - they can go into the sink for washing - and again, you can use the bicarb of soda on your cloth and that there will come up lovely and clean.
With the door-frame itself, again, you take the wet cloth, sprinkle on your bicarb, shake off the excess, and away you go. You see, that's lifting really easily there, it really is a good product to use, and it's a natural deodorizer, so if your fridge is a little bit smelly, it will get rid of the smell as well. If you've got any really stubborn stains, you can mix liquid soda on the cloth with your bicarb and that will double the cleaning power.
So, again, the shelves lift out quite nice and easy so you can put those in the sink for washing and just continue to wash down the door. And that's how to master green cleaning your fridge. .
