How To Memorise A Deck Of Cards

Step 1: Link cards to people

Assign a person you know to each card in a deck. For example, your might think of your family for the suit of Hearts. Your father could represent the King of Hearts
You might choose your mother could represent the Queen of Hearts, and your sister the jack of hearts. Go through and imagine someone you know for each card in a deck. If you have trouble thinking of 52 people you know personally, you could think of celebrities. Review the associations so that you can quickly recall them when you see the card.

Step 2: Create a journey

Think of a place you know well, such as your home, and think of 17 specific places in it. Create a journey in your mind where you mentally review each of the 17 places. It is essential that you do this in the same order each time - this is important for later steps.

Step 3: Shuffle and deal

Shuffle the cards, and then deal them one by one. As the cards are dealt, recall the person that you associated with each card. (show the cards being dealt)
When three cards have been dealt and you have recalled the three people that represent those cards, imagine them together in the 1st of the 17 places. For example, you imagine your mother, your neighbor and your colleague at the front door. And you imagine another three people that you know in a scene in the dining room. Continue until you have turned over all of the cards in the deck.

Step 4: Recall

Mentally review the image that you have created. In your mind, go through the 17 places in the location you know well. Review the link that you have made and you will be able to recall the cards in order. Get someone to test you. Have a friend look at each card in the deck in turn while you recall the cards in their new order. The more that you practise this new skill, the easier it will become for you. Good luck!
