How To Mix Concrete

In this video, I am going to demonstrate how to mix concrete. Basically, I have my bucket down here. For this concrete mix, I am going to do a 4 in 1 mix and the bucket is used to measure out the mix.

If I do 4 measures of sand, of ballast, which is what's in this bucket already, then I do 1 of cement and basically, we always start with a clean mixer. And this avoids spitting and any mortar going in your eyes. So, we start the mixer.

Always make sure you keep the mixer nice and wet, and apply water slowly. When you add in the water, you always stand to the side so that none of the concrete or cement spits in your face. You allow the mixture to turn the mortar and the concrete for about 5 to 10 minutes, it gives it a nice mix, making sure the aggregate is mixing well with the cement and the water and you get a nice thorough mix right through.
