How To Mountain Bike

This speaker advises you of the differences between mountain bikes and road bikes. The biggest difference between the two seems to be the number of gears.

Mountain bike. Typical mountain bike. Essentially, the main difference between a mountain bike and a road bike is that, much lower gears, smaller frame, and also much bigger clearances between the tires and the frame.

And one other essential ingredient is the brakes. This one's got Canter Lever brakes. You can also have them with V brakes or real top quality brakes.

These days, they come in with disc brakes, similar to a motor bike so that you've got enormous stopping power. This is a steal frame. You could have a carbon frame or an aluminum frame and they can be the top of the range mountain bikes and be extremely light, similar to a road bike.

But essentially, the diamond frame is the same as this and you can have as many gears but generally, train set with ten speeds at the back or nine speeds, thus giving you 27 or 30 speed gears. But most mountain bikes all look the same, just the different components, different materials that go into making one. So, I'm riding up a grassy slope.

Though it's not very steep, it's quite a lot of work on a mountain bike, so that's why I've got very low gears on it. So I can still keep a forward momentum while cycling up a slope of this nature. And also, the ground's very soft so the tires tend to stick in it much more than on the road, obviously.

So, you can see that it's much lower gears, which really help on mountain biking. .
