Hi I'm Rick from the Music Workshop Company. I'm going to show you some tips on how to drum. Let's talk a little bit about decreasing the sound that the drum kick can make.
Everybody knows that the drums can be quite loud sometimes and there are number of ways you can decrease set sound. You can get some studio rings which are basically very thin plastic rings that go round the sides of the drums. It takes away the harshness.
There is also munzo which isn't some mystique increasing the sound but takes away the sorts of ring sounder most drums can do. There are also some phone practice pads which are available to be which are available to buy in drum shops as well, which completely take away the sound. If you're looking for to do self method however, try find some towels, very thin towels that you know you don't have machines for anymore and then put over the drum.
This can take away quite a lot of sound. So at the moment, we have the drum on its own. You just put a cloth on it, quite thin cloth there.
Make sure it's dry. Over there, see, very thin cloth, it takes away quite a lot of sound but if you want to do thicker, even thicker, it takes away even more. See, it's the way you do yourself but I mean, it's one of the methods you can use you know if you are getting a headache or what soever, you are tired of these loud sounds.
I just put some you know, some dry thin unused towels on your skins, they shouldn't, they don't do any harm to the skins and you know you can do your practice to the convenience of people. .
