An ollie is the staple trick of any flip trick in skateboarding. Learn how to ollie even higher by following these tips from the Zombie Brand Skateboard team.
I'm going to teach you how to ollie. Basically, it's the staple trick of any flip trick or anything like that, so that's really good if you can get it down. The way it works is by getting the sort of pressure and the sort of bounce if you like, off the tail when it hits the floor, you want your foot sort of just behind the bolts here, your front foot, and your back foot just like that there.
You want the ball of your foot in the middle of the tail, like that. Kind of crouch down when you do it, and you want to hit the tail on the floor as hard as you can, and as soon as that happens, it's going to spring the board up like that. So, what you want to do is jump with it as it does it and slide your front foot up.
Now, what that will do is balance out the board, so it brings you up flat, so you bring your back foot up as well. Once you've done that, just snap it back down. To ollie higher is something that comes with the more you skate, the more you practice, the more you do it you'll just get better and better at it.
But, a few tips that I can give to you is first off, there is a lot of people I know and it works for me as well, if you start trying to ollie over stuff, or up things, you kind of find yourself where you've got a target to ollie higher, you find yourself doing it. Also, the more you crouch down and the harder you hit the tail down, the higher you jump with the board. Also, you can try to put your foot further back which will give you more leverage and it will give you more time for the board to raise up higher before you flatten it out.
This is how you're going to ollie higher. Sometimes, especially for a normal ollie, your kind of like that there, with your front foot. If you're going to ollie higher, it's easier if you have it a bit further back.
It gives you a bit more leverage when you're in the air. Also, crouch down a bit more, it gives you a bit more spring when you're jumping up. Also, just try to slam that tail down as hard as you can.
So if you watch in action, kind of slide your foot up when you're ready, like that. And that's how you ollie higher. .
