How To Open A Bin File

This is an informative step by step video on how to open a bin file using your computer and Microsoft Windows. A solution to saving disk space or running out of space.

Today, I am going to show you how to open and run a bin file. A bin file is an image of a CD or DVD that is stored as a file on your computer. The first thing that you'll need to do is install a program called magic disk.

You can do this by going to their website or going to GOOGLE and typing Magic disk and it will take you to the program to download here. Once you've downloaded and installed that, you need to actually run the program. So, in order to do that, we go to start all programs, magic disk and then click magic disk.

It looks as though nothing's happened, but in the bottom right hand corner, you will see a little hand with a CD there and that shows you that the program is running. So what we are going to do is use this to create a virtual CD or DVD drive and then we are going to load into that virtual drive, this virtual DVD or CD, which I call demo.bin.

So what we do is we right click there, we go up to the virtual CD rom, the E drive, and go mount, and now this is the equivalent of putting the disk into the drive so we'll select that file. Double click it and then straight away, it now thinks that I got a DVD in the drive and a CD. So if I go to my computer, you can see here that there is that disk in that drive .

If you want to have a look at what's actually on that disk, we can go to open and we can now see the files that are on that disk. So, I have just showed you how to open a bin file on Windows. Bin files are a great way of saving discs and DVD's onto your computer just in case they get damaged or you're running out of space.
