Total amateur!

Twist the bottle not the cork. Most real champagnes don't have is handy 'tab' that he goes on about to remove th foil.

PLUS it is customary NOT to taste champagne as one does with wine. If the wine waiter offers then a real expert waives the right to taste.

A sparkling wine guy shouldn't attempt champagne videos :-)

I didn't know you had to twist the bottle! Good to know. And, it's good to learn how to open a bottle because I'm always afraid of people popping the cork into someone's eye!

I have taught many people on how to pour wine or chapagne with out spilling a drop. The secret is the twist is in the wrist. As the glass almost gets full, twist your wrist about 1/4 turn toward you as you raise the bottle. Yes, it also works with bottled beer or even soda.

This is the way to open sodas, to open champagne you simply need to put your fingers on the bottom of the bottle (up it's ass so to speak), let the cork fly, it will not foam and spill - guaranteed.
