It's tough when you have to remember a lot of funeral details in the middle of this painful incident. So this video suggests writing everything down into what's called a funeral checklist. These are the guidelines you might want to follow.
How to organize a funeral checklist. When arranging a funeral, it's very important to write down every thing that you need to do because you're never going to remember it all. You might want to start with your budget.
Write it down, then everything that you feel you need to do to have the funeral run smoothly. So this could start with deciding whether it's a burial or cremation, then finding your local funeral director. After that, decide which crematorium or cemetery you want.
Have you got a plot if it's a burial? How many cars do you want to take your mourners? What type of coffin? Do you want a minister or a humanist? Where do you want to go back to after the funeral? Have you booked your caterers? Have you got a place for your caterers to go? Who do you need to write to, telephone or email to tell them when the funeral is? Do you want to put a message in a paper to tell everybody about the funeral? Any wishes that you know from the person who has died wanted you to carry out? What are you going to wear on the day of the funeral? Do you want to have flowers at the funeral or would you prefer for people to make donations to your charity? What music would you like? Do you want hymns? Are you going to sing? Are your congregation likely to sing? What do you want your congregation to be dressed in? Do you want them in black or do you want them in light clothing? What colour do you want the hearse to be, black or silver? Once you've decided how you want the funeral to proceed, you may wish to produce a funeral program. This will list everything from what minister you're using to the readings to where the funeral's going to be. You might want to do this yourself or there are many companies that you can contact through the internet that would do this for you.
So, that's how you organize a funeral checklist. .
