It is not essential but if you are using a wooden table a table cloth is a good idea. If you are going to organise a number of poker nights you could also invest in a specialised poker table top which has markings to aid the game - and to give a more casino feel.

You will also need markers for who is dealing and for the blinds. You could use coins for this. However you can also invest in specific markers or buttons which look professional.

A few bowls of nachos and nuts will also go down well with you guests.

Make sure that you have agreed with your friends how much money you will be playing with each time - and that people have bought money with them. You don't have to play for money - you can just distribute the chips equally and play for fun.

Blinds

You should also set the levels of your blinds before you start playing and decide when the blinds are raised. You can do this either by setting a time limit or simply increase blinds every time the play has rotated completely around the table.

Whatever the stakes just make sure everybody is in agreement - the last think you want is to stop being friends.
