How To Pack For A Tailgate Party
Whether it's a sporting event, concert, or just because, you want to make sure that you're tailgate party is the best. Here are some helpful tips from VideoJug on how to make your tailgate party a great tailgate party.
Step 1: Sort It Out
Containers keep everything you're eating, and everything you're eating with, in the right place. All of the dry items such as plates, napkins, and utensils can be carried in a plastic bin. Perishables like meats should go into one cooler. Veggies and Drinks should go in a second cooler.
Step 2: Pack It In
Fill the coolers a quarter way with ice. Then put the meats into one cooler and the veggies, cheeses, and beverages into another cooler. The point of this is to prevent the veggies, cheese, and drinks from being spoiled by the meat juices.
When packing anything, whether it's your cooler or your car, put the heaviest things on bottom. Jugs of water on the bottom. Veggies on top. This will keep your tailgating munchies from getting squished. Top off the remaining space in the cooler with ice. That way, it's sure to be nice and cold when you arrive.
Step 3: Loading In
It's called tailgating for a reason. Pickup trucks have them. With a truck you can pack everything in. Again, load heavy items on the bottom and lighter items on top.
If you have a trailer hitch, use it. It's an easy way to pack extras like the freedom grill - specially designed for tailgate grilling.
Step 4: Double Check
Pull out that checklist you made before packing and check it out. One last thing, don't forget your sunscreen.
