How To Paint A Silk Scarf

My name's Alison Beck and I'd like to show you a few of the techniques of fabric painting. I'd like to show you how to make a silk scarf using the Marabu silk product. You'll need 2 or 3 colours to make this scarf and so you can choose from these sorts of colours and what you need to do first is to wet the scarf and then you need to put it into about 5 cups.

So, you just poke it into each cup and then we just get each colour and drip it onto the fabric. Because it's already wet, the colour spreads. It's a really easy way to make a scarf.

You don't need to stretch the silk onto a frame, and then you go to a different colour. I'll get the blue. The Marabu silk is available at around 2.

99 a bottle but it does actually quite go a long way. It's a really good product and the colours are so vibrant. I'm now going to show you one more colour.

And this is going to take a few hours to dry and when you feel that it's dry, you take it out and then you iron it for 2 minutes at cotton heat setting. And this is what your scarf will look like once it's finished. .
