I am going to show you how to paint space marines. Space marines come in various chapters, each chapter coming in its own color or uniform. The most popular being the Ultra Marine Blue and then going on to blood angels which is a red, and there is a lot of different chapters or uniforms and you can go on and on.
Okay, I got basically the blood angel has been undercoated and given a wash coat of undertone red. The next then I going to do to is a technique called wash. You don't need to take a good quality brush for this is because you are taking this brown paint and turning it into the very watery consistency.
And as already as you can see where I've done it here, that red is toned down and because that brown is so translucent, it's not turning brown. It is sort of that wash color. So, that's sort of a wash technique and also how to get on with all of the details of the face suddenly appear in this mass of red because this brown paint washed into those.
I'm going to show how to do a technique called dry brushing. Basically, you want to use an old brush which is pretty much the opposite of what you want a good brush to be. If you look at these two tips, this rough one is the one you want.
So, you take this aquamarine color and give it a shake. Now, what you're doing with this is you put the paint on the brush, like that, and you're taking most of the paint off the brush and what that is doing is highlight the ridges, and you're going to do layer after layer until you get. Well, it's basically until the edges are blue and the in part has stayed black.
I've put a thin line of front white on the edge and that is nice. And that is basically how you paint Space Marines. .
