Hello. My name is Tom and I work for Aspect Maintenance. We are painting a deck today, and I am just going to show you how we paint the exterior stucco.

My colleague is basically painting the detail over the door. To do the same, you just need to use an exterior masonry paint. It is the same thing that we are using.

It is a water based paint that works wonders. When you are painting stucco or any exterior detail, be sure push the paint into any small crevices and smooth it around to get a nice even finish. So, before you put the paint on, what you need to do is make sure that you dust off any surface dirt.

If the surface is simply too grimy, you will need to sand it off first and possibly use a stabilizing solution. That is basically just to make sure that the paint you put on is going to stick. and hold tight to the stonework.

If you are going to be painting outside, you will need to use a weatherproof paint. If the masonry has never been painted before, or is particularly dirty, you will need to use a stabilizing solution, also known as primer. beforehand.

That will just make sure that whatever you paint on top holds tight to the surface and gives you an even finish. It also prevents flaking and peeling off. A primer is a solvent based or oil based solution that you can use. .
