How To Paint Trim

Okay, I am going to show you how to paint trim, as we call in this case, archive trim. First thing you need to do is to rub it down with the sand paper. I have already done this after you rubbed it down, brush it down with the dusting brush, wipe it down with a rag with a slight spirit on.

This removes extra dust particles and any grease. I have also masked the floor up to the edge and also put a dust sheet down to allow if there are any splashes. Mix some of the paint.

I am going to use eggshell. I will firstly start here in side edge, I have already brushed the back edge and now, I am doing the face of the trim. Working into the edge first, brushing it down, work it evenly so you go with an even layer of paint.

When you are happy that you have got right amount, lay the brush of upwards - not too much, just work with a little area at a time so you don't cover it too much or dry on it. Work down to the bottom, always remembering to lay off when you finish. When moving on to the base board, placing the same principle, cut along the top edge first, try and keep as long as you can, working along using the edge of the brush, then working right to the bottom, you got your masking tape there so it doesn't have to touch that slightly .
