How To Paint Your Interior Walls
This film will show you how to paint the inside of your house. Give your property that extra special touch by learning the basics of painting your interior walls.

You Will Need
-
Step 1:
-
Prepare the space.
-
If the walls have been subject to lots of grease and grime, you'll need to wash them first to help the paint stick. Also, patch any holes or gashes and everything before priming.
Move your furniture and cover it and your floors with plastic or old sheets.
Remove the plates from your light switches and electric outlets and cover with a piece of tape.
Tape over the edges of your trim with masking tape.
-
Step 2:
-
It's Prime Time.
-
You will want to use primer, especially if your paint changes colors dramatically from what you currently have. Prime it again after it dries. Primer coats the surface, giving your paint a better chance to stick the first time, meaning you won't have to use as many coats.
-
Step 3:
-
Paint the walls.
-
With a roller, paint large diagonal stripes like a “W,” then spread the paint out up and down. Do this in areas about 4 feet square, overlapping before each previous edge dries completely to smooth the seams.
Add extra coats of paint as needed.

Step 4:

-
Using a paint brush, paint the corners, trim and other areas you cannot reach with the roller.
-
Step 5:
-
Watch it Dry
-
If you find yourself caught in this step, now might be a good time to make sure you have lots of ventilation to provide fresh air to equalize the paint fumes. Perhaps you could use this time to make touch ups or clean up after yourself.
