How To Perform A G-Turn Nose Wheelie
A G-Turn nose wheelie involves balancing on your Bmx's front wheel and spinning the bike round 180. It looks stylish, and can be mastered with some practise. Jason Forde of Team Extreme shows us how.
Step 1: The turn
To perform a G-turn nose wheelie you must start by riding at a moderate speed with your pedals parallel to the ground. You must then turn sharply, also known as carving, into a tight circle to the right.
As you go into the turn, push down on the bars and lean forward slightly, shifting your weight from the back of the bike, to the front.
Step 2: Twisting
As you perform the sharp right hand turn, push out to the left with your hips, whilst turning your head to look over your right shoulder.
With practise, this motion combined with the pushing down of the handle bars will lift the rear wheel off the ground, and propel it around roughly 180 degrees in a sweeping arc.
Step 3: Riding out
Once the rear wheel has landed again, you can ride out by shifting your weight back a little and pulling up gently on the handle bars. This will create a small wheelie which can turn the front of the bike a further 180 using the momentum you have already gained. This puts you in a position to ride off again, and adds extra flair to the move.
