Good instruction for the basics. However, I think it is worthwhile to add that many weekend golfers start their downswing with a tense, violent motion, ruining their chance of making solid contact. The top of the swing is a critical transition point and should quietly lead into a smooth downswing. Thinking "light and lazy" at the top is a good strategy to promote this feeling. Inaccurate! The Vardon grip is also called the Overlap grip. What they call the overlap grip is actually the interlocking grip. And they only show you just a little bit about the golf swing. All steps except the final step only concerns the setup. Maybe they should call it "How to perform a good setup", instead of "Perfect golf swing".

This is a great video to watch when you want to refresh yourself on the essential parts of the swing but don't have much time to give. I also learned something that I am a bit surprised I didn't know. I have watched many videos on the golf swing and I have never noticed that the right shoulder needed to be lower then the left shoulder. Little things make a big difference.

I am a new golfer and this video helped me tremendously. Thank you

Very useful! Being very much a tennis man I never contemplated taking golf as a sport. Last August two of my mates were playing golf and I joined them just to get some exercise, walking along them. On hole 3, while my mates were busy looking for a lost ball I picked up a club at random and hit the ball completely instinctively. I expected 30-40 yards of distance, what I got was 160 yards, nice, high trajectory and the ball landing in the middle of the fairway. For the rest of that afternoon I was trying to repeat this lucky shot, but I couldn't. So I decided to learn golf properly. I started with 126-130, now I am down to 100. Videos like this one are of great use, as they let you understand what the swing is all about. My 11 year old son is mad about golf and collected 14 golf clubs. (I've got 36). Weight on the left foot, take a practice swing with the ball in place. That is what brought my game back. I started with chipping (weight on left foot) and the ball went into the air. So, I did the same, as he said, with the pitch and took a half swing like it was a practice swing, with the ball there. It was great. So I tried it with a full swing (still weight on left foot) with a 9 iron...practice swing with ball in place. FANTASTIC!
