    True that syrah and shiraz are the same grape but the two wines are different in character, presumably because of the come from different countries and are made in different ways - I don't claim to be an expert in the process but I drink quite a lot of both! Shiraz tends to be BIG and fruity whereas syrah tends to be intense (almost inky). If anyone knows why they seem to be so different I'm interested.

    Syrah = shiraz. Shiraz is what the Australians call it whereas the french and american producers typically call the grape variety syrah

    Really interesting - I tried the Cabernet Sauvignon and it was really food. I like the bloke in the grey jumper - he seemed to know what he was talking about without being a pretnetious wine git.
