Hi, I'm Ellie, and I'm Charlotte. We run a wedding boutique. Today, we are going to talk to you about how to plan your wedding.
If you're thinking about planning an autumn wedding, which is one of my favorite times of year, I think you need to embrace the fact that it's going to be a little bit chilly out, it's going to get darker earlier, and that the colors need to be a lot richer in your pallet. This could also be reflected in the kind of fabric that you choose in your dresses. So thinking about bridesmaids dresses, I would definitely keep the colors sort of more, sort of browns, navy, plums, and those sorts of richer autumn colors and actually have the sort of fabrics to reflect that.
So for example using a sort of dupioni for your bridesmaid dress, and don't forget about your flower girl as well. Still keep them in ivory but maybe have the same color sash so everything kind of has a real warmth, a rich, richness about it. And you should think about your guest, importantly if it's a bit chilly.
If you're having a church wedding, you know transporting back to your venue then, maybe have like a nice mold wine or a winter pimms ready for them to warm them up. It's a bit different and plays on the fact that it's a different time of year. I think thinking about the venue for an autumn wedding is really important.
Stately homes really come into reign this time of year. They fit the season, their stall is fantastic and you can dress them up to keep them really warm. Also, markedly, unless you can sort of heat, or they're semi permanent, aren't really going to work in autumn.
Plus the whether is too risky. And I think lots of the stately homes, now you can have the ceremony and the reception which again is a really nice way for people to spend their weekend. You also need to think about your flowers as well, and what's going to be in season that time of year.
If you might have an idea of a flower that you really want to have in your bouquet, but actually the florist might not be able to get it. So all little things like that you need to consider, and also what food you're going to be having. What your invites are going to have because really, to have an autumn wedding, you can have it any sort of style.
It can be contemporary, traditional, can sort of be more relaxed, vintage, but it's all sort of about what food you serve I think and actually where you have it because ideally, you don't want your guest to be cold. And that's how you plan an autumn wedding. .
