In this VideoJug film, Ellie and Charlotte help you plan your very own cruise wedding, and thanks to their tips, it might end up being easier than you thought!
Ellie: Hi, I'm Ellie. Charlotte: And I'm Charlotte, and we run a wedding boutique. Ellie: Today, we're going to talk to you about how to plan your wedding.
Charlotte: If cruises are your thing and you really want to get married on one, I think first of all you need to establish what cruise ships offer weddings, because it might be that it's just you have to go on a cruise ship and that's actually not where you get married. It might be that you have to get off one of the stops to get married. And then you have your party there.
Or do you actually have your party on board. Ellie: And then have a register who can actually marry you on the cruise ship. Charlotte: Exactly, and does it have exclusive availability? Are you able, I mean? It depends on how big the cruise ship is.
But, are you able to block a certain section off just for you and your guests so that you have some privacy? Or is it more of an informal affair, where it's just you and a few friends and close family that get married on the cruise ship and then you have like a couple of tables. So I think this is a very personable style of wedding. It could be for your second marriage or it could be, you know, blessing.
Ellie: That you are slightly older. Charlotte: Exactly, or you're a bit older. Or you're not really fast about a big do, and actually cruise ships are your thing.
So I think once you've established that you can decide what kind of theme of wedding you're going to have. Ellie: And again, you can have any theme really, I think, on a cruise ship. But I would definitely embrace the fact that you are on a ship.
It's all about the captain's table. It's all about dressing up to the nines for dinner. So it's almost sort of reminiscent of how people used to dress in the twenties.
You know, "Titanic" or something like that. So, you know, really go to town with your dress. And, again, let your guests, who are going to be there at the wedding, know that it is going to be really over the top.
And very glamorous. Lots of sparkles, jewels. Things like that.
Charlotte: I think the other thing you have to establish is whether all your guests are going to be going on the cruise with you or if they're hopping on and hopping off. Again, that's going to have a big sort of dictatorship on how you're going to run the wedding. If your wedding's actually on the cruise ship, you know, and you've got a couple of tables, you could name the tables off to the certain destinations of the cruise ship if everyone's involved.
If everyone's just hopping on and hopping off, you need to think of the logistics, and how you're going to entertain those people. Ellie: The one good thing is that, because all the entertainment and everything will hopefully be organized for you, and all the food, it's actually fairly easy to organize a cruise ship wedding. It's just finding the right one, finding the right destination and inviting, you know, the right amount of people.
Charlotte: And that's how you plan a cruise wedding. .
