Hi, my name is Amy and I am a wedding and event planner. I have planned events mainly specializing in weddings. However, I have planned events from Christmas to corporate and I am going to give you some tips that I hope will help for you to plan events in the future.
I am going to talk to you about how to plan a pirate party. When you send out the invitations, you want to make sure that you organize for these to be along a theme. You might want to organize this to be a fancy dress party in order to add to the theme.
It would be nice to organize for the venue to be decorated to give it a pirate theme, may be with decorated as a boat, with pirates in eye patches around the area. Maybe you want to have a makeshift plank that guests can then walk down. You might want to organize to have a paddling boat in the back garden for everybody to be able to get that feel of a pirate theme.
Food-wise, you might want to think about having something like fish fingers to have, for the children. If it is more of an adult party, you might want to think about having something like rum cocktails. You might want to organize a treasure hunt.
Organizing for everybody to have a map leading them from one clue to another. This could be done for younger children or for older children. If you are looking at older children, you might want to organize to have riddles for the clues, to just take them a bit longer to reach the hidden treasure.
You might be wanting to have themed music, so may be have accordion music to keep in with the theme. You need to consider what event this is for. Whether it is just a party, or whether it's for a child's birthday party.
You might want to draw inspiration from pirate films such as Pirates of the Caribbean. If the children are old enough, you might want to have that screened on a big screen for the children to watch later on when they are starting to calm down. You might want to organize for party bags that are themed with the pirate theme for people to take away.
It might be nice to have some novelty plastic swords for the children and plastic eye patches, that they can then wear if they do forget to bring those with them. I hope this has helped in planning a pirate party.
