So, let's look at 7 card stud, a game not so popular now in the UK, but very popular still in the US and very much so before the 60's and the heyday of Texas Hold'Em card games. Basics are each player would get 2 cards. So let's say there are 4 players in this particular scenario.

They would get 2 cards face down, and then each player would get 1 card face up to start with. Like all variations of poker, what each player is looking to do is to come up with the best 5 card hand they can actually come up with. So, two ways to do this, you can either have a set of blinds like we've got here.

So it'd be 2000, 4000. This scenario, the person, the left of the blinds would come in. Or sometimes if they would, all ante 1000.

An ante would be a forced bet prior to any cards being dealt and there would be a bring-in. The bring-in would be changes from high to low card, but the low card would have to bring in. So, the 4 of clubs is the lowest card round so he would have to bring in 1000.

These guys get to make a decision based on the cards they got. So, let's take it from there. Let's do card 4, card 5, card 6.

Now, we get the last card, card 7. Card 7 is always, as they say in most casinos and card rooms, "down and dirty". So let's deal it down and dirty.

Now, when the betting is over and we go to the show down, we look at the best 5 card hand we can make out of the 7 available to each player. No community cards, no shade cards. Let's have a look.

So, let's look at this one specifically. We got 2 pairs here, queens and tens. We've got nothing there.

That can fold. We got 2 pairs here, kings and sixes. Nice hand.

And we've got nothing there. So, over here, kings and sixes, winning hand of seven-card stud, and that's it. .
