How To Play Beer Games: Dreidel Drinking

Ancient Hebrew and beer may not seem like a natural combination, but the two go together quite well in Dreidel Drinking. It's easy to learn, hard to stop playing.

Step 1: You will need

  • dreidel
  • empty beer cup
  • beer

Place the empty cup in the center of the table. Everybody playing should have a full beverage in their hands. Each player takes a turn spinning the Dreidel.

A player's actions are determined by what the Dreidel lands on.

If you are lucky enough to get the Hebrew symbol for NUN then do nothing.
If it lands on the SHIN symbol – pour some of your drink into the center cup.
If the HAY symbol comes up – drink half of what's in the cup because HAY means “Half”. Watch out for GIMEL because now you drink everything in the cup and start over.
