How To Play Drums Faster

Hi, I'm Rick from The Music Workshop company. I'm going to show you some tips on how to drum. So, what I'm going to do now, is to show you how to play drums faster.

So, you need to start off slowly. Okay? You need to start with a basic drum beat. Once you can do that, you need to take away your left hand, and then try and do the same thing, but just with your right.

So this leaves your left hand with nothing to do. Okay. What I want to do now, is I want you to get your left land on the high hat, with your right hand, and I want you to think of this: One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.

Then what I want you to do, is I want you to do this. Okay now, from here I want you to think about that drum beat you did with your right hand. Add your left hand.

Now the beauty of this, is that it seems like you're doing something faster, but you're actually keeping the same tempo. You're keeping the same beat. So, While it seems that you've got quite a basic rock drum beat here.

You can speed it up, as it were, by adding more. Sped up.
