Hi my name is Charles Scott and I'm an administrator at thepikaclub.co.uk.

I've been playing Pokemon for over ten years, and yes, I have caught them all. In this video I'm going to teach you how to play a Pokemon Battle Game. Now, usually what we mean by Pokemon Battle Games are games that are solely focused on the battling side.

Usually no exploration, or RPG elements involved, and usually no leveling up of the Pokemon themselves. The latest example of a Pokemon Battle Game is Pokemon Battle Revolution, for the win. Okay, so this is the main title screen for Pokemon Battle Revolution and as I'll show you in a couple of screenshots, this is what the game looks like as you're playing.

There is a complete 3D representation of all the Pokemon and trainers, with a complete impressive background for all the stadiums that you can play on. With 3D representations of all the moves, and damage that you take. So, I'm going to take you through a few of the menu options that you can select while playing Pokemon Battle Revolution.

The first screen that you'll get to is this one. Now you can choose between colosseum mode, and DS battle mode. We'll get to colosseum mode in a moment.

We'll focus on the DS battle mode. Now, the DS battle mode will allow two to four players to play using their DS and DS teams onto a big screen in 3D. Once you select DS battle mode, you'll get to this screen which talks about turning on DSs and entering them into the game.

All you do is press Start Entry and you'll get to this screen. Turning on your DSs on this screen will have a new option on the main menu, called "connect to win". Press that and you'll start showing up on this screen.

Here I've got two players ready to play. So I press start. Then, I come to the rules screen.

Now, there are three types of battle styles that the game offers: Single battle, which is a basic three on three match, Double battle, which is a four on four match, using two pokemon at the same time. Lastly there's the mixed battle. Now this is a battle mode where you pick three pokemon and then your opponent chooses one of your pokemon to play with, and you choose one of their pokemon to play with, which kind of makes it a bit more random.

As for the rules, there is anything goes, which allows any type of level, there is a level 50-all, which will cap the level at level 50, whether you're under-levelled or above-levelled. It will make all pokemon level 50. So once you've done that, you click confirm and you select which players are playing, and you fight, carry-on as you would any other pokemon battle game.

Now we'll go into the colosseum mode. When you start a new game you'll get to the introduction to the island that the game is set on. After all that introduction, you'll end up with this main screen, hit the colosseum mode.

This is where the bulk of the game is. Selecting that will get you to another screen which looks a little like this. This screen is where you choose which colosseum you want to play, and as you play along, more colosseums will unlock for you to play.

In this case I've got one here, and one here. Each colosseum has it's own rules, some may be level-capped at level 30, some may only want to use pre-evolved pokemon, some will ban the use of various pokemon. Each one will tell you which rules apply to that game, and you must follow that for your pokemon team.

So that's it, that's everything you need to know in order to play Pokemon Battle Revolution.
