How To Play Shanghai Darts
Improve your dart game by playing Shanghai Darts. In this VideoJug tutorial, 1988 darts champion Bob Anderson shows you how it's done.
A great practice game, and fun practice game, is shanghai, where the object of the exercise is to score a treble, a single, and a double of the same number in three darts. It's a scoring game again. You don't always hit a shanghai, you may just hit a certain number of 1's, 2's, 3's, 4's, 5's, 6's or 7's, which is the scoring bets for the game.
So if you go for 1's, you maybe will hit a treble 1 and two single 1's. You would score 5 and when your opponent would throw and maybe he scores 4. You come down to 2's next and try to hit that shanghai - treble, single, double.
If you do, you've won the game. If you don't, you merely score something, maybe two singles, and then your opponent has a go and hits the shanghai. He's won the game.
Rub it off and start again. A great fun game for any number of players, so let's Matt and I have a game of shanghai where we'll try and show you what we mean. Okay, Matt? Game on.
And I have trouble with 20 now, look. See, it's not quite so easy, is it? What have we got there, three single 3's? Very close, but no cigar. That's a Shanghai, wins the game for me Matt, sorry.
That's how to play Shanghai. .
