Have you always wanted to play the Drums but have been worried that your poor coordination is more likely to injure than impress someone? Don't worry as we are going to show you a rock drum beat that anyone can play with just ten minutes practice! To begin this simple drum beat, the Right hand needs to be playing the hi-hat, which is the set of two cymbals attached to each other and usually placed next to the snare drum, twice on every beat when counting to 4. These are called 8th notes.

Meanwhile, your Left hand will be playing the Snare drum on every 2nd and 4th beat of a count of 4.

Finally, your Right foot will be playing the Kick Drum on every 1st beat of a count of 4. Try to apply the power when playing the Kick drum from the top of the thigh rather than generating it through the ankle.

Finally, put them all together in time to a count of 4 and you should, with practice be able to master this simple rock drum beat!

    this guy's got a nice set and yah this is a good vid if ur trying to impress people saying you know how to play drums. You should try adding more bass drums and opening the high hat sometimes and you can make a really cool beat at the end

    awesome. i knew one simple beat, just 1234 on the high hat with the bass on 1 and the snare on 3, this is similar but sounds more "advances". can't wait to try it

    If that is the Gretsch Drum Kit I'm thinking of, that is a nice sounding kit. I played that at a Guitar Center in Hollywood, California. I recommend for pros and beginners. It sets the mood and your willingness to stay on it and play longer.
