To begin this simple drum beat, the Right hand needs to be playing the hi-hat, which is the set of two cymbals attached to each other and usually placed next to the snare drum, twice on every beat when counting to 4. These are called 8th notes.


Meanwhile, your Left hand will be playing the Snare drum on every 2nd and 4th beat of a count of 4.


Finally, your Right foot will be playing the Kick Drum on every 1st beat of a count of 4. Try to apply the power when playing the Kick drum from the top of the thigh rather than generating it through the ankle.


Finally, put them all together in time to a count of 4 and you should, with practice be able to master this simple rock drum beat!
