How To Pot On Rosemary

Rosemary is a perennial herb that has many delicious culinary uses. Brona Keenan, a gardener at Pitmedden Gardens in Aberdeenshire, Scotland shows you how to pot on rosemary cuttings.

You Will Need

  • rosemary cuttings
  • compost mix
  • 1 pot

Method

Use a compost mix of compost and sharp sand.

Remove your cutting from the pot by gently tapping the bottom. Gently tease the cuttings away from each other. Place the compost mix into the bottom of the new pot and place the rosemary cutting in at the height it was potted in the previous pot. Fill out the pot with compost mixture to just under the rim on the inside. Press the cutting with two fingers, placed on either side of the plant. Gently tap the pot to settle the compost and get rid of any air bubbles. Water it and set outside to grow.
